Pasta Chips

IMG_0124.jpg

Crispy and crunchy, the viral Tik Tok air fryer pasta chips are such a crave-worthy snack. I never would have thought to turn pasta into chips but I'm glad Tik Tok introduced me to the brilliant idea. The best part is that they are so simple to make and customize. All you need is your choice of pasta, oil and your favorite seasoning mix to make these flavorful pasta chips.

For my recipe, I chose red lentil pasta since it packs 25g of protein in a single serving which will make this snack even more satisfying. I also added some heat using my favorite South Asian spice mix that includes turmeric, garam masala,  chili powder and more. Get your snack on with my recipe below!

Directions

  1. Cook pasta for about 1/2 the time listed on the package.

  3. Add oil and seasonings to the pasta. Toss to combine.

  4. Spread the pasta out evenly in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F for about 7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Shake the basket in between time.

  5. Let it cool for a few minutes, sprinkle over cilantro and enjoy with a dip or chutney like my Coconut & Herb Chutney

Recipe Notes:

  • Different ways you can season the chips include- parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, dried herbs, curry powder, everything but the bagel seasoning are some ideas!

  • You can use different shapes and types of pasta.

  • Avoid overcooking the pasta or using too much oil for best results.

  • Avoid overcrowding by air frying the pasta in batches if you have a larger portion.

  • You can also bake these chips in the oven at 400°F for about 20 minutes or until golden brown, tossing between time but they might not get as crispy as the air fried version.
