Loaded

Apple

Slices

image2.jpeg

One of my favorite snacks while growing up was the classic apple and peanut butter combo.  I would come home from school, change into some comfy clothes, and start munching away on this snack my mom always had ready for me.  But recently, I have been enjoying a bit of a fancier version of this classic snack that I call Loaded Apple Slices! For this snack, I load apple sliced with crunchy toppings, peanut butter or any other nut/seed butter of choice, and yogurt.  These ingredients can provide a great dose of nutrients like fiber, protein, healthy fats, vitamin D, and calcium.  This is a perfect snack for both adults and kids to enjoy. For kids, you can even turn this into a food activity by slicing apples and placing each topping into little cups or cupcake liners so they can create their own little loaded apples slices!
