If you are on the look-out for a nutritious, crunchy, & savory snack, these Crispy Seasoned Kale chips are the perfect choice.  I used to make kale chips in the oven but since I purchased my air fryer, making these has been so quick and easy.  The air fryer also helps create the perfect crave-able crunch without excess oil and frying!

Did you know that kale is a vegetable that is part of the cabbage family?  This leafy green is filled with beneficial nutrients like fiber, folate, vitamin C, vitamin A, and iron. A few ways I like to enjoy these nutritious Crispy Seasoned Kale Chips is during movie nights, served with lunch sandwiches, and even as a garnish for soups and curry dishes!

Servings: 2-4

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: about 3 minutes

Total Time: 8 minutes

Author: Huma Naz

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of kale

  • 1-2 tsp. oil (I used avocado oil)

  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

  • 1/8 tsp. chili powder

Directions

  1. Thoroughly wash and dry kale chips.  Then remove the steam and tear the leaves into medium-large pieces.

  2. Toss the kale in a bowl with all the seasonings and oil. Mix all ingredients till kale leaves are coated well.

  3. Spread kale out into the air fryer basket evenly in a single layer (may need to cook in batches) and place the metal air fryer rack on top of the kale to prevent them from flying during the cook time.

  4. Air fry the kale for about 2-3 minutes at 360°F (adjust cook time as needed).  You may need to check in between time since they can burn easily and give the basket a little shake.

  5. Once the kale chips are done(should be crispy without large dark burned spots) place them in an open plate to cool & enjoy!

Recipe Notes:

  • Different ways you can season the chips include- parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast, garlic powder, onion powder, dried herbs, curry powder, everything but the bagel seasoning are some ideas!

  • Extra kale chips can be stored in a sealed baggie/container for up to a week.
